1. Explore methods to determine and discuss prognosis with patients experiencing serious life-limiting illness.
2. Appreciate demographic, psychosocial, and racial factors that are associated with decreased access to effective hospice and palliative care and recognize ways to promote a collaborative model of care that provides all patients with optimal serious illness care.
3. Identify effective strategies to be utilized in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to mitigate psychosocial suffering and facilitate adaptive coping in patients with serious life-limiting illness.
